Sometimes utilities have information on a credit report . Do you have any utility bill in your name? This can help you establish credit. Many credit cards have information on credit reports . Sometimes , you can get a credit card from a store that can help you establish credit. A secured credit card can also help you establish credit.
Since the Credit CARD Act went into effect, it is more difficult for the typical consumer to qualify for a credit card. This is by design, many parts of the law are intended to keep credit cards away from college students.
Those who are able to get a credit card under the new legislation will have to pay more in fees and less likely to win through the use of credit cards.
How I can get a credit card?
In the old days, we advise that a young consumer buys an appliance on credit, your local store has historically been the best place to establish credit. These days, most places do not finance their large items as before. Now, they will try to register with your credit card from the regular store and have you use that.
The good news is that the store is still a good place to get approved for credit. Your credit card will not be cheap. Store cards have the highest interest rates out there. You will be more likely to be approved yet to be established if it is your goal, this idea is not so terrible an idea.
Just remember, if the credit card is first obtained, used sparingly. After a year or so be sure to make all your payments on time, at that point you may have established enough of a credit history to qualify for a card with better rates.
Another good place to get a credit card
Gas stations that offer credit cards are another good option for consumers who are beginning. Gas cards are easier to get than some other cards, and usually have lower limits so there is less chance that you get too deep into debt. Best of all, the gas is relatively small, recurrent expenditure, and paying that credit card bill each month can be great for building your credit score.
